Short Bio and Research Interests
Matthias Klauser is a member of the interactive Systems chair since April 2010 and holds a Master of Science in Applied cognitive- and Media Science. He works on the EU-Project FoSIBLE (FOstering Social Interaction for a Better Live of the Elderly/EU-Project FoSIBLE). This project takes place in the field of smart environments and communities. It was established to support and relieve social interaction in the daily life of the elderly with regard to their individual living circumstances, needs and interests.
Besides the Fosible Projekt he also works in the Game Technology Competence Center NRW (Project GTCC.NRW). The goal of the GTCC.NRW is the transfer of technology and knowledge between the games industry and scientific research.
His research interests are the evaluation of different game aspects like game experience and the interaction with new interfaces. His Master thesis was about creating a tangible user interface to train cognitive skills and problem solving strategies for the elderly. Currently he still works on the environment and tries to improve the results of his master thesis.
