Short Bio and Research Interests
After receiving his diploma in Computer Science from the University of Bielefeld, Björn Joop joined the Interactive Systems Research Group in 2007. His main research interests include context-adaptive systems for collaboration as well as new interaction techniques for multitouch surfaces. In CONTici, a research project funded by the DFG, he works on multi-user/group context modeling and group-context-aware adaptation mechanisms. Moreover, Björn is responsible for the group's multitouch tables and is also interested in machine learning, computer vision and robotics.
For his Ph.D.-Thesis, he is exploring merging strategies for turning individual context models into group contexts with the aim of context-based recommendations for (pdf-)documents and document contents. (For extracting text from pdf-document ABCpdf is highly recommended).
